Kathryn Irene Norris' Obituary
Kathryn Irene Norris, age 99, departed this life on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 7:56 p.m. to live on in the hearts of family and friends.
Born Kathryn Valerius, she was preceded in death by father and mother, Edward and Emma, as well as sisters Teresa, Lucille, Edna and brothers Edward and Albert. She is survived by sisters Matilda and Dorothy and brother Matthew. She was also preceded in death by husbands Adolph Fish, Louis Junge and Norman Norris. Her twin sons, Henry and Adolph also passed shortly after birth. She is survived by her children, Josephine Howard and Edd Fish and wife Jinx. She has five grandchildren: Sean, Quentin, Seth, Natalie and Holly. Five great grandchildren: Mischa, Logan, Evan, Liana and Rosella Jo. She will be remembered as a kind and generous mother and grandmother.
Kathryn was a successful homemaker and seamstress working at three local dress factories. She loved gardening, needlework, dancing and baking. She was the oldest member of the DuQuoin Sacred Heart Church and delivered holy communion to shut ins for many years. She contributed to numerous charities and orphanages. She was very active with the Catholic Daughters and made many friends through her good works.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, DuQuoin, IL on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Joseph Oganda officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, DuQuoin, IL. The Rosary will be recited on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the church.
Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, DuQuoin, IL on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
