Junetta Betts' Obituary
Junetta Betts, age 85, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 12:09 p.m. in Fair Acres Nursing Home, DuQuoin, IL. Junetta was born on August 5, 1925 in DuQuoin, IL, a daughter to Stanley and Nancy Ellen (Devor) Dunmyer. On October 15, 1943, she married James F. Betts Sr. in Murphysboro, IL, and he preceded her in death on August 24, 1982. Junetta was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She was a member of the Lighthouse Church, Royalton, IL. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and most of all she loved visiting with family and friends. She is survived by her seven children; Larry (Judy) Hamilton of Vergennes, IL, Lynn (Michael) Smith of Mt. Vernon, IL, James (Kathy) Betts Jr., of DuQuoin, IL, David (Pat) Betts of DuQuoin, IL, Robbin (Terry) Manning of Kingsport, TN, Kathy (Phillip) Phelps of Grandin, MO, and Barbie (Herbert) Smith of DuQuoin, IL; one brother, Forrest (Louise) Dunmyer of DuQuoin, IL; one sister, Nancy (Tony) Denham of West Frankfort, IL; Grandchildren; Larry Allen Hamilton, Brad Hamilton, Troy Hamilton, Clay Hamiliton, Chalene Whitley, Tennille Wanner, Heather Harsy, Larry Travis Hamilton, Rick Byrnes, Tonya Baker, Rashon Byrnes, Roxanna Crain, Michael Jr. Smith, Scott Betts, Sherry Tudor, Steven Betts, Craig Shain, Cynthia Fleenor, Michelle Davison, Jeremy Manning, Jerrod Manning , David Wayne Phelps, Phillip Phelps and Amanda Smith, sixty eight great and great-great grandchildren and many dear nieces and nephews. Junetta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Sherry Lee Betts and two brothers, Frank Dunmyer, Jimmy Dunmyer and a sister-in-law; Ilene Dunmyer. A Celebration of life will be held at Lighthouse Church, Royalton, IL on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor David Betts officiating. Interment will be in Old DuQuoin Cemetery, DuQuoin, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial may be made to Lighthouse Church, Royalton, IL.
