Josephine Price's Obituary
Josephine Price, age 84, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 12:50 p.m., in Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation, Pinckneyville, IL.
Josephine was born on October 6, 1941, in Coulterville, IL, the daughter of Louis H. and Dora (Hall) Cantrell. Josephine had worked as a factory worker for Gilster-Mary Lee for many years and as a butcher at the IGA in Coulterville. She was a member for Meat Cutters Union Local 534 and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 411 in Sparta, IL for 50 years. Josephine liked to sew, crochet, play cards, and repurpose furniture. She loved to travel and go to casinos. Josephine enjoyed having family dinners, especially sitting around and talking while looking at pictures. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her daughter, Dora “Sis” Harvey of Coulterville, IL; six grandchildren, Justin (Rachel) Alexander, Adam (Shana McCulloch) Price, Sarah Alexander, Christine Alexander, Jade Price and April Price; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Ricky Alexander and Luther “Kyle” Price; one brother, Cletus Ray Cantrell; and two sisters, Yvonne Little and Nadine Rice.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., with Bob Davis and Ron Mazander officiating. Interment will be at Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL.
Visitation will be at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL, on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
