Josephine Bruno-Poiter's Obituary
Josephine Bruno-Poiter, age 95, of rural Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 11:43 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital. Josephine was born on August 29, 1911 in Pinckneyville, a daughter to Mike and Lena (Giacomo) Ruffino. She married John Bruno on August 24, 1929 in Pinckneyville, IL and later married Joseph Poiter on September 26, 1962 in Pinckneyville, IL and they have both preceded her in death. She worked as a presser at the former Pinckneyville Garment Factory and was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Todds Mill, IL. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, eating out, and visiting with her family. Survivors include her children: Anna Marie and Arthur Wettig of Steeleville, John Joe and Ruth Bruno of Pinckneyville, Mike and Mary Bruno of Pinckneyville, Pete and Leta Bruno of Pinckneyville, George Bruno of Pinckneyville, and Margaret Padfield of Pinckneyville, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two sons: Richard Bruno and Floyd Bruno, three sisters, one brother, one son-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and three granddaughters. Funeral services will be held in Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Friday, March 16, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Norman Breeden officiating. Interement will be in St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery, Todds Mill, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and then on Friday from 8:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m.
