John L. Rees' Obituary
John L. Rees, age 51, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 1:40 p.m. in his home.
John was born on August 9, 1968 in Pinckneyville, IL a son to Bernard and Betty (Rednour) Rees. He married Carla Williams on August 7, 1992 at Oakdale Baptist Church, Oakdale, IL and she survives. John worked as a diesel mechanic and also enjoyed working on motorcycles, four-wheelers, building derby cars with his son and fishing with his grandchildren. He was a diehard St. Louis Blues fan and never missed watching a game. One of the things John enjoyed most each year was spending time at Sam A. Baker State Park with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Carla Rees of Coulterville, IL; two daughters, Tiffany (Harley) Copple of Coulterville, IL, and Kayla (Michael) McDonald of Coulterville, IL; one son, Blake Rees (fiancé Morgan Giacomo) of Coulterville, IL; six grandchildren, Harley and Carley Copple, Braidan, Brenden and Dessa Williams, and Hayden Rees; one brother, Rick Malott of Coulterville, IL; one sister, Debbie (Jim) Brandon of Collinsville, IL; one brother-in-law, Robbie (Christa) Williams of Tilden, IL; four nieces and nephews, Rusty Snodgrass, Jacob, Taylor and Alyssa Williams; and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; and one brother, Raymond Malott.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
John's wishes were to be cremated after the funeral service.
Memorials may be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
