John Hazen's Obituary
John Gerald Hazen, 67, of Gettysburg Pennsylvania died Thursday August 14, 2008, at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence in Harrisburg Pennsylvania. Mr. Hazen was born on January 28, 1941 in Du Quoin Illinois and was the son of the late Leland and Margaret Hazen. Mr. Hazen is a graduate of Pinckneyville High School and a Mechanical Engineering graduate of the University of Illinois and spent his life working in the printing industry. He designed and managed the building of the R.R. Donnelley plant in Harrisonburg Virginia in 1979. He was the Manager of the Engineering Department from 1979 through the mid 1980's. He was also Engineering Book group manager for R.R. Donnelley in the late 1980's to the mid 1990's. After leaving R.R. Donnelley he worked for other companies such as the Chicago Tribune, Quebecor World, Inc. and the Von Hoffman Group. He is survived by three children, a daughter, Patricia Boshart and husband Scott, of Dayton, Virginia; two sons, Jon Hazen and wife Angela, of Erlanger, Kentucky; Michael Hazen of Roanoke Virginia and four grandchildren, Ryan and Cory Boshart and Colton and Jaden Hazen. He is also survived by two brothers, Daniel Hazen of Port Charlotte, Florida and David Hazen of McMurray Pennsylvania. A graveside service is planned at the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in DuQuoin, Illinois on Wednesday, August 20th at 10:00am.
