John Charles Feltmeyer, age 82, of Belleville, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 8:15 p.m. in Four Fountains Nursing Home, Belleville, IL. John was born on January 18, 1935 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Christian and Marie (Fisher) Feltmeyer. John was a veteran of the United States Army during the Cold War. He was an engineer for Terminal Railroad in St. Louis, MO for 25 years, a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL, and enjoyed fishing and golfing. Survivors include one son, Raymond (Susan) Feltmeyer of Belleville, IL; one daughter, Joyce Brakie and special friend, Mark Griffin of Wisconsin; one brother, LeRoy (Karen) Feltmeyer of Pinckneyville, IL; five sisters, JoAnn Leathers of Carmi, IL, Thelma Bigham of Granite City, IL, Mildred (Bill) Dintelman of Nashville, IL, Rose Mary (Claude E.) Rains of Pinckneyville, IL, and Jane (Bernard) Martin of Pinckneyville, IL; five grandchildren, Mindy, Cathenia, T.J., Brian, Tyler; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Amos Leathers and Glen Bigham. Funeral Services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Cindy Bean officiating. Interment will be in Campbell Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL.
