John F. Caupert's Obituary
John F. Caupert, age 97, of rural Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 6:45 a.m. in Pinckneyville Hospital Skilled Care Unit, Pinckneyville. John was born on March 6, 1911 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to John and Mathilda (Zinke) Caupert. On August 17, 1935, he married Lydia J. Schrader in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL and after 60 years of marriage she preceded him in death on August 26, 1995. He was a farmer, a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lost Prairie until it was destroyed by a tornado on December 21, 1967, he then became a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Pinckneyville. He had served on the school board of the fromer 205 School District and was a life-long member of the Farm Bureau. Survivors include his sister-in-law: Selma Schrader of Chester, IL, and many dear nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter: Marie Caupert, three brothers: Louis, Henry, and Theodore Caupert, and five sisters: Clara Schrader, Hulda Beck, Lydia M. Caupert, Bertha Edler, and Olga Launhardt. Funeral services will be held in Zion Lutheran Church, Pinckneyville on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Smithley officiating. Interment will be in Lost Prairie Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Zion Lutheran Church, Pinckneyville on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Lost Prairie Cemetery Association, or donor's choice.
