John Joe Bruno's Obituary
John Joe Bruno, age 84, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. in his home. John was born on July 5, 1932 in Perry County, IL, a son to John Batiste and Josephine (Ruffino) Bruno. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War and obtaining the rank of Corporal. On November 5, 1955, he married Ruth Elaine Henseler in Pinckneyville, IL and she passed away on May 31, 2016 after 60 years of marriage. He had worked as a mechanic and machinist at Captain Mines for 18 years. John was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and the U.M.W.A. Local 1392. He enjoyed mowing grass, running heavy equipment and traveling and loved playing with his grandchildren. Survivors include his two sons, John Bruno of Pinckneyville, IL and Joseph Bruno (fiancé, Kathy Detmer) of Pinckneyville, IL; two daughters, Jenny Low (Chen Chor) of Longmont, CO and Joany (Larry) Smith of Pinckneyville, IL; three brothers, Mike Bruno, Pete (Leta) Bruno and Gene Bruno, all of Pinckneyville, IL; two sisters, Mary Wetting of Steeleville, IL and Margaret Padfield of Benton, IL; five grandchildren, David A. (Michelle) Smith, Jessica (Mario) Beshears, Laura Callihan (fiancé, Mitch Graff), Diana (Tyler) Reinhold, and Sierra Bruno; and seven great-grandchildren, Mary Smith, Daxton, Dawson, Daegon and Daelon Beshears, Ian and Shyann Callihan and Kindell Graff. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a daughter, Jeanny Bruno; two sisters-in-law, Mary Bruno and Betty Bruno; two brothers, Floyd Bruno and Richard Bruno; and two brothers-in-law, Charles Padfield and Arthur Wetting. Funeral services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday morning at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Oak Grove Cemetery.
