Joann Lacy's Obituary
Joann Gertrude Lacy, age 90, of Pinckneyville, IL went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 2:37 p.m., in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, to be with God whom she knew, loved and served.
Joann was born on October 9, 1934, in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Theodore John and Ann (Bruns) Brand. On April 19, 1958, she married Harry Lacy in Pinckneyville, IL. Joann was a homemaker and a cook for the 212 Consolidated School in Pinckneyville. She was a member of St. Bruno’s Catholic Church congregation. Joann enjoyed quilting and gardening. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her children and grandchildren. Joann would drop whatever she was doing to help anyone in need. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Harry Lacy of Pinckneyville, IL; five daughters, Jacinta “Cindy” K. Lacy of Pinckneyville, IL, Mary (David) Peradotto of Pinckneyville, IL, Sherry (Ronald) Ridgeway of Pinckneyville, IL, Cathy (Bruce) Duvardo of Pinckneyville, IL, and Judy (Rick) Heisner of Pinckneyville, IL; two sons, Steven (Joi) Lacy of Pinckneyville, IL, and Allan Lacy of Pinckneyville, IL; three brothers, Thomas (Barb) Brand of Pinckneyville, IL, Alvin (Dena) Brand of Jefferson City, MO, and William Brand of Pinckneyville, IL; four sisters, Rosemary Bert of Chester, IL, Margie Forseth of Pinckneyville, IL, Dorothy (Dennis) Hawkins of Pittsburg, PA, and Mickey (Randol) Sumner of Pinckneyville, IL; seventeen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-laws, Norma Doolin of St. Louis, MO, Betty Jausel of Pinckneyville, IL, and Frances Rice of Pinckneyville, IL; one brother-in-law, Leroy Lacy of Pinckneyville, IL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Jane Scholebo; a brother, Teddy Brand; a grandson, Devon Heisner; two sisters-in-law, Jeannie Brand and Erla Lacy; five brothers-in-law, John Bert, Bill Scholebo, Charles Doolin, Virgil Jausel, and Carl Lacy
A funeral service will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL, on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with Father John Igwe officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL, on Sunday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Monday morning at 9:30 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Bruno Catholic Church.
