Jimmie L. Egbert's Obituary
Jimmie L. Egbert, age 82, of Campbell Hill, IL, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 9:03 p.m. in Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Jimmie was born on August 25, 1937 in Perry County, IL, a son to Edward and Bertha (Brown) Egbert. He married Janet Walker in Ava, IL, on September 20, 1958 and she survives. Jimmie co-owned Egbert Timber with his brother, Gary. He was of the Christian Faith and enjoyed talking to people, going to tractor pulls, auctions, shooting matches and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Janet Egbert of Campbell Hill, IL; four children, Anita (Ralph) Volkman of Ava, IL, Janett (Dan) Schnaare of Centralia, MO, Teresa (Lance) Weil of Vergennes, IL, and Jimmie (Amanda) Egbert of Tamaroa, IL; one brother, Floyd (Connie) Egbert of Willisville, IL; one sister-in-law, Zelda Egbert of Mesquite, TX; four grandchildren, Jessica (Brian) Miller, Rachel (Kyle) Fager, Jonathan Schnaare (fiancé, Madeline Watson) and Leah Weil; five great-grandchildren, Brock and Alexis Smythe, Eli, Eden, and Ezra Fager; one special niece and nephew, Sharon (Ted) Maxedon and Terry Egbert; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Willard "Dean" Egbert, George Lavern "Vern" Egbert, Cecil Egbert, Garreth "Gary" (Marjorie) Egbert and two brothers in infancy.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Galum Presbyterian Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Deb Rathert officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society or Galum Presbyterian Cemetery.
