Jim Joslin, Sr.'s Obituary
Jim Joslin, Sr., age 68, of Pinckneyville IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 10:58 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL. Jim was born on March 26, 1948, in DuQuoin, IL, a son to Edward and Josephine (Jones) Joslin. On March 20, 1967, he married Jennifer Smith in Perryville, MO and she survives. He was a veteran of the United States Army and he earned a bronze star medal proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War. Jim attended Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and worked in maintenance for Spartan Printing for 25 years and then for Maytag, Herrin, IL. He was a member of the Pinckneyville Fire Department, a volunteer EMT for the Pinckneyville Ambulance Service, Pinckneyville Lions Club and was a proud member of the G.C.I.U. Union. He enjoyed spending time working on cars and loved playing golf at Red Hawk Country Club and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Joslin of Pinckneyville IL; son, Jimmie (Dorothy) Joslin, Jr. of Woodbury, MN; five grandchildren, Abby Joslin, Amber Joslin, Alex Joslin, Amanda (Trevor) Shute and Alicia (Sam) Mathis; two great-granddaughters, Clara Mathis and Audrey Mathis; one brother, David (LaVerne) Joslin of Oakdale, IL; one sister, Judy (Rollie) Kirby of DuQuoin, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; Carl Joslin and one sister, Donna Beckham. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Military graveside services will be provided by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
