Jerry K. Scott's Obituary
Jerry K. Scott Sr., age 65, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 5:13 p.m. at his residence. Jerry was born on March 2, 1948 in Casey County, KY, a son to Johnnie E. and Ruth Lucille (Cochran) Scott. On April 3, 1966, he married Sharon K. Morgan in Taylorville, IL and she survives. He retired from Peabody Coal Company after 25 years of service. He then worked at Gilster Mary Lee starting out in the garage and eventually on to truck driving. Jerry was a member of the U.M.W.A., NRA and the North American Fishing Club. He enjoyed mechanical work, fishing, hunting, gardening, and dearly loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Sharon K. Scott of Coulterville, IL; two sons, Rod Scott of Coulterville, IL and Jerry Jr. (Charlotte) Scott of Willisville, IL; a daughter, Kim Scott of Coulterville, IL; four brothers, James A. (Rose) Scott, Lenard (Barbara) Scott, John G. (Juanita) Scott, and Lonnie (Maggie) Scott; three sisters, Shirley Olson, Mary Alsup and Eva (Carl) Albright; five grandchildren, David, Cierra, Kenneth, Jada and Samantha; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Bobby Jean Scott, Vernon Scott, Larry Scott and Herman Wayne Scott. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Ron Mazander officiating. Interment will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Oakdale, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Colorectal Cancer Research division of the American Cancer Society.
