Jerry Dean Henson's Obituary
Jerry Dean Henson, age 75 of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 4:25 a.m. in Marshall Browning Hospital, DuQuoin, IL. Jerry was born on March 26, 1940 in DuQuoin, IL, a son to Newell R. and Myrtle (Smith) Henson. On December 30, 2000, he married Rosemary Wells in DuQuoin, IL and she survives. Jerry was a member of the First Baptist Church, DuQuoin, IL, was a proud veteran of the United States Army and worked as a welder for John Burke and Joe Holder Manufactured Homes, Pinckneyville, IL. He loved his animals, singing karaoke, spending time with his family and the holidays. Jerry was a kind man who enjoyed the simple things in life. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Henson of DuQuoin, IL; three sons, Dean (Carolyn) Knight of DuQuoin, IL, Mark (Shantell) Henson of California and Rick Henson of California; eight daughters, Julie (Joe) Woodsides of DuQuoin, IL, Robin (Gregory) Luthy of Pinckneyville, IL ,Kathy Hamburger of DuQuoin, IL, Charlene Gugle of Hurst, IL, Lavonna (Steve) Hammond of Sesser, IL, Sue Bagley of Dowell, IL, Teresa Beard of California and Dana (Jake) Hensley of California; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, Rodney Henson of DuQuoin, IL, Bill (Linda) Henson of Marissa, IL and Tom (Kathy) Henson of DuQuoin, IL; one sister, Janice Henson of Dowell, IL; and several niece; nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Catherine Henson, Linda Henson and Shirley Archer; three brothers, Junior Henson, Herschel Henson and Roger Henson and one grandchild. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church, DuQuoin, IL on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Joe Wagner officiating. Military service will be provided by the DuQuoin V.F.W. and American Legion. Friends may call at the First Baptist Church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the family of Jerry Henson Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
