Janet Sue Mydler's Obituary
Janet Sue Mydler, age 80, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 8:30 p.m. in Stonebridge Nursing and Rehab, Benton, IL.
Janet was born on July 7, 1943 in DuQuoin, IL, a daughter to William H. and Olive Louise (Pierce) Gilliam. In May of 1963, she married Roy A. Mydler in DuQuoin, IL and together they had three children. Janet was a member of the Second Baptist Church, DuQuoin, IL and had worked as a hairdresser. She enjoyed crocheting and playing Bingo and love cooking.
Survivors include her two sons, Wade Allen (Jane) Mydler of DuQuoin, IL and Royce Allen (Charlotte) Mydler of DuQuoin, IL; a daughter, Amy Marie (Marc) Ferando of Ewing, IL; a sister, Sherry Dunn; and four grandsons, James Brenton Burden, Hunter Jamison Burden, Waylon Wade Mydler, and Cash Michael Mydler.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William Gilliam and Richard Gilliam.
Janet's wishes were for her body to be donated to the SIU School of Medicine and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
