Janet Ann Brand's Obituary
Janet Ann Brand, 77, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 11:35 p.m., in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL.
Janet was born on December 25, 1945, in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Joseph and Mildred Bernice (Hutchings) Scholebo. On November 8, 1963, she married Bob Brand in Pinckneyville, IL. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2015. Janet had worked as a cook and waitress for several years. She worked as a CNA, volunteered at Caring and Sharing in Pinckneyville, IL, and loved to travel. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL, where she belonged to the Wings group. Janet enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and riding motorcycles with her husband. Janet had an unmistakable charm, quick wit, and a special sense of humor that could leave you speechless. She was naturally a very caring and giving person to those she knew and loved, and even to strangers in need. Janet loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her son, Joshua (Melissa) Brand of Ft. Worth TX; two daughters, Lora (Keith) Wheeler of Marissa, IL, and Bobbi Barton of Pinckneyville, IL; one brother, Ross Logan of Pinckneyville, IL; one sister, Crystal (Keith) Campbell of Pinckneyville, IL; one step-sister-in-law, Kay Kaffenberger of St. Charles, MO; six grandchildren, Jordan (Jennifer) Sutton, Brandon Sutton, Sage (Brendie) Swain, Sable Swain, Kaley Brand, and Jenna Brand; two step-grandchildren, Dylan Barton and Shelby Taylor; four great-grandchildren, London Sutton, Naomi Sutton, Cole Sutton and Canyon Swain; and one step-great-grandchild, Brynleigh Barton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, step-father, Babe Logan; brother, Bill Scholebo; sister-in-law, Jane Scholebo; son-in-law, Gary Barton, and one sister, Jeanne Brand.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church Kitchen Fund.
