James J. "Jim" Spreitler's Obituary
James J. "Jim" Spreitler age 74 of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 in Christian Northeast Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Jim was born on April 11, 1935 in Chester IL a son to John J. and Florence M. (Jones) Spreitler. He married Edie Kauk and to this union three children were born. On February 14, 1973, he married Jean Stubblefield in Waukegan, IL and she survives. Jim was a member of the Methodist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army. During his service, he served two tours in Vietnam retiring after 20 years of service and worked as a coal miner at Montery Coal Company for 12 years. He was a member of the N.R.A. and very involved in various wildlife and conservation organizations. Jim love fishing, especially with his grandsons and great-grandsons. Jim is survived by his wife, seven children; Tammy (Deon) Wall of DuQuoin, IL, Brigette Wyciskalla of DuQuoin, IL, Jane Atwater of Tamaroa, IL, Linda Brunell of Webster Groves, MO, DeWayne L. Kelley of Carterville, IL, Debbie A. (Kenny) Kempfer of Coulterville, IL and Patty L. Bradshaw of Cutler, IL, two brothers; William J. (Dixie) Spreitler of Gulfport, MS and Randy J. (Robin) Spreitler of North Carolina, a sister; Joyce (Allen) Dingerson of Mt. Vernon, MO, fifteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Monday December 14, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Jeff Emery officiating. Interment will be in Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or American Lung Association.
