James R. Long's Obituary
James R. Long, age 76, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at 9:17 a.m. in Washington County Hospital, Nashville, IL. James was born on September 19, 1940 in East St. Louis, IL, a son to Charles Raymond and Louise Doris (Wilson) Long. He was a proud veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Air Force. He worked as a CNA at the VA Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI for 20 years. James was a 14 year member of the Moose Lodge, Pinckneyville, IL and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Pinckneyville, IL and loved his cats. Survivors include his two sisters, Betty Wilson of Sauget, IL and Dorothy Blake of High Ridge, MO; a niece, Kelly Hamlyn of Eureka, MO; a nephew, Stephen Blake of High Ridge, MO; three great-nieces and great-nephews, Samantha Blake, Buddy Blake and Blake Hamlyn; and a great-great-nephew, Bradley Hamlyn. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles Robert Long; a sister, Edna Sanders; a brother-in-law, Guy Wilson, Sr.; and a great-nephew, Chadley Blake. A private burial will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of arrangements.
