James "Bill" W. Headrick's Obituary
James W. "Bill" Headrick, age 92, of Conant, IL, passed away at 11:15 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Pinckneyville Health Care Center, Pinckneyville, IL. Bill was born on December 6, 1921 in Tennessee, a son to James E. and Ona (Sykes) Headrick. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. In 1967, he married Vida Krug in Madison County, IL and she survives. He attended Denmark Baptist Church, Denmark, IL and St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL. Bill worked as an engineer designing trucks for a trucking company. He was an avid gardener, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Vida Headrick of Conant, IL; one son, James Randall of Punta Gorda, FL; one daughter, Lesli (Richard) Cohan of Seattle, WA; one grandson, James (Jodi) Headrick of Highland, IL; and two great-grandchildren, James Headrick and Jalyn Headrick. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Cindy Bean, Reverend Marty DeRoche and Reverend Howard Self officiating. Interment will be in Galum Presbyterian Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Graveside military rites will be by Pinckneyville American Legion #2504. Friends may call at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to church of choice.
