Jacque Howard Reidelberger's Obituary
Jacque Howard Reidelberger, age 91, of Winona, MN, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013. Jacque Howard Reidelberger was born on July 2, 1922 in a house on the corner of Walnut and East Randolph Streets in Pinckneyville, Illinois. He was the only son of Hazel Dink Howard and Luther Charles Reidelberger. Jacque graduated from Pinckneyville Community High School in 1940. He was drafted into the military in 1942 and served his country in North Africa and Italy until 1945. With the strong encouragement of E. Brentwood and Virginia Armstrong Barker, Jacque enrolled and graduated from Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin. He received a Masters of Arts Degree from St. Louis University, St. Louis Missouri, where he remained on the faculty as Instructor and Scenic Designer. He joined the faculty of Winona State University in 1956 and remained forty years, nine of the last ten as Chairperson of the Department of Communication and Theatre Arts. After his retirement, Jacque co-founded a group called Action Theatre, an improv group that was active in Winona and the surrounding areas. Jacque was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Alice Roberta Reidelberger and Helen A. Reidelberger.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Martin-Myhre Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Tom Schoen officiating. Military Rites will be provided at the funeral home by the Leon J. Wetzel American Legion Post #9. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday after 10 a.m.
Burial will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity Foundation, American Civil Liberties Union Foundation or the Human Rights Campaign in memory of Jacque. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of graveside arrangements.
