Ivory Naomi Jackson's Obituary
Ivory Naomi Jackson, age 78, of Odenville, AL, stepped into heaven on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 8:53 p.m. at her home. Ivory was born on October 3, 1937 in Matthews, IL, a daughter to Harvey and her precious mother, Mary (Sadler) Heiman. On February 13, 1954, she married James Russel Jackson in Corinth, MS and he survives. She was a co-owner of Jackson's United Shows Carnival for over 50 years and was a member of Family Christian Fellowship Church, Odenville, AL and lifetime member of the St. Louis Chapter of Showmans League of America. Ivory loved her Lord, flowers, feeding her family, decorating her home, music and playing the organ at her church. She lived her life full of compassion, caring for others and always giving of herself to her family, church and community. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, James Russel Jackson of Odenville, AL; three sons, James Stephen (Annie) Jackson of Haines City, FL, Michael Wayne Jackson of Odenville, AL and Russel Blane (Annette) Jackson of Haines City, FL; one daughter, Tamara Lynne (Darrell) Jones of Odenville, AL; four brothers, Harvey (Carol) Heiman of St. Elmo, IL, George (Janet) Heiman of Ramsey, IL, Ronald (Margie) Heiman of Ava, IL and Donnie (Jeannie) Heiman of Herrick, IL; two sisters, Kathy (Alan) Durbin of Herrick, IL and Debbie (Alvie) Allan of Herrick, IL; sister-in-law, Evelyn Heiman; ten grandchildren, Jason Jackson, Ivory (Shane) Weeks, Jarred Jackson, Ashley (Eddy) Noerper, Joe Jackson, Jimmy (Terrin) Jackson, Lauren (Burt) Robison, Michaelle (Jeffery) Ragsdale, Chelsey (James) Smalley and Tanner Jackson; thirteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless loved ones that she adopted into her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved brother, William "Blanie" Heiman; and an aunt, Freda Heiman Haggard. Funeral services will be held at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with her brother, Pastor Ronald Heiman officiating. Interment will be in Swanwick Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL. Friends may call at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the family to be distributed to her favorite charities.
