Irma Engelhardt's Obituary
Irma Engelhardt, age 88, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 5:57 a.m. in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Carbondale, IL. Irma was born on February 22, 1922 in Ava, IL, a daughter to William and Julia (Davis) Koen. On February 23, 1946, she married George W. Engelhardt in Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on June 19, 1999. Irma was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL, where she served on the funeral dinner committee. She enjoyed playing dominos, quilting, sewing and gardening. Irma was a dedicated wife and mother who enjoyed taking care of her home and working on the family farm. She was a devoted caregiver for her eldest son. Irma is survived by four children, Roger Engelhardt of Elkhorn, WI, Bob Engelhardt of Anna, IL, Betty (Don) Heisner and Judie (Alan) Hastings of Pinckneyville, IL; four grandchildren, Blaine (Cynthia) Heisner, Brooke Heisner, Michelle (Jason) Mohr and Cory Hastings all of Pinckneyville, IL; three great-grandchildren, Carly and Eliza Heisner and Grayson Mohr; many dear nieces and nephews and a special thanks to the many caregivers who took such special care of our mother. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two grandchildren, Heather Hastings and Matthew Heisner; and a brother, Russell Koen and a sister, Helen Larison. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Cindy Bean officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL.
