Ina Geraldine Chapman's Obituary
Ina Geraldine Chapman, age 90, of Pinckneyville, passed away Sunday evening October 20, 2013 at 11:05 p.m. in Randolph County Care Center, Sparta, IL. Ina was born on September 9, 1923 in Tamaroa, IL, a daughter to the late Herbert Douglas Rice and Clara Schmalriede of Tamaroa, IL. On August 7, 1940, Ina eloped to Perryville, MO to marry Harold Wade Chapman. They were married for 73 wonderful years and resided in Pinckneyville Illinois. Homer and Lola Rice were the attendants at their wedding. Ina was a member of Landmark Apostolic Church, Sparta, IL, and worked as a spreader in the cutting department of Forest City Manufacturing Company for 30 years. Ina was an avid reader and loved working crossword puzzles. She was an awesome grandma and dearly loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Harold; her three children, Jerry (Sharon) Chapman of Pinckneyville, Illinois, Gayle (Mike) Cox of Surry, Maine, and Cindy (Earl) Almond of Johnstown, Colorado; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren, soon to be thirty and one sister, Ruth Stone of Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Fred Rice and Herbert Rice. Funeral services will be held at Landmark Apostolic Church, 401 N. Vine Street, Sparta, IL on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Doug Rice and Mike Cox officiating. Interment will be at Campbell Cemetery, Tamaroa, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at Landmark Apostolic Church, Sparta, IL from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
