Ila Fay Queen's Obituary
Ila Fay Queen, age 81, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 6:38 a.m. in her home. Fay was born on February 11, 1925 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Fred W. and Carmen (Vortriede) Bardle. She married Charles H. Queen on November 8, 1944 in St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville and he preceded her in death on October 29, 1998. She had worked in housekeeping at Fair Acres Nursing Home and was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, and Abundant Life Prayer Group. She loved to bake cakes for church and charity. Survivors include one son: David Eugene Queen of Hazelwood, MO, one brother: Fred Bardle and his wife Gerry of Pinckneyville, IL, four grandchildren: Thomas Wayne Queen of TN, Andrew James Queen of CA, Sarah Louis (Queen) Self of Ziegler, IL, and Mark Alan Queen of VT, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son: Freddie Queen, and one sister: Wanda Bardle. Funeral services will be held in St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Cynthia Bean officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Friday, October 20, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m., on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. till 9:30 a.m., and then at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ or Luke Memorial Hospice.
