Hester C Hagel's Obituary
Hester C. Hagel, age 92, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 8:08 p.m. in DuQuoin Nursing and Rehabilitation, DuQuoin, IL. Hester was born on May 3, 1922 in Wayne County, IL, a daughter to Trute and Carrie (Ray) Gordon. On August 2, 1939, she married Reverend Lloyd W. Hagel in Pueblo, CO and he preceded her in death on March 31, 1993 after over 53 years of marriage. She was of the Independent Baptist faith. In her lifetime, she had worked at Decca Records and Mallory, was a store clerk at McCants, Pinckneyville, IL and fulfilled many duties as a "preacher's wife". She was devoted to her kids and family and loved spending time with them. Survivors include two sons, Harold (Lylia) Hagel of Pinckneyville, IL and Rodney Hagel of Carterville, IL; two daughters, Karon Hepp of Pinckneyville, IL and Sharon (Richard "Beaver") Woodside of DuQuoin, IL; six grandchildren, Thad (Dee) Woodside, Cory (Susan) Hepp, Caby Hepp, Shay (Angie) Hagel, Jenny (Shane) Signarino, and Chesney (Bart) Bartrusis; and four great-grandchildren, Nic Hagel, Austin Hagel, Lexi Hepp and Cameron Hepp. She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepfather, Harold Hagel; husband; a brother, Herman Gordon; a half-sister, Haroldine Rogers; and a step-sister, Wanda Jean Stoltz. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Thad Woodside officiating. Interment will be in Holts Prairie Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of arrangements.
