Herman E. Sims' Obituary
Herman E. Sims, age 55, of Pinckneyville, IL passed away on July 30, 2006 in Carbondale Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, IL. Herman was born on May 16, 1951 in St. Louis, MO, a son to Walter and Mabel (Trotter) Sims. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He married Judy Cottrill on December 23, 1977 in Sims, IL and she survives. Survivors include his parents: Walter and Mabel Sims of Pinckneyville, wife: Judy of Pinckneyville, two sons: Herman Sims, Jr of Pinckneyville, and Donald Sims of Kentucky, four daughters: Rebecca Sims Collins and husband Pat of Pinckneyville, Jennifer Sims of Pinckneyville, Marissa Sims of Pinckneyville, and Sherry Wall of Chester, three brothers: Walter Sims of Tennessee, Charles Sims of Paragould, AR, and David Malcolm of Pinckney ville, two sisters: Louise Mathis of Pinckneyville, and Dawn Poore of Bush, IL, and twenty-four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and one sister: Linda Cantrell. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Mr. Sims will be cremated following the services. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m.
