Herbert Carl Jacob Paasch's Obituary
Herbert Carl Jacob Paasch, age 88, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 7:45 p.m. in Friendship Manor Health Care Center, Nashville, IL. Herbert was born on December 31, 1924 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to William and Rosina (Schaudt) Paasch. He was baptized by Reverend Martin Clausen at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lost Prairie, IL and was confirmed on April 10, 1938 by Reverend Alfred Bodethe. Herbert was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church until it was destroyed by a tornado on December 21, 1967. He then joined Trinity Lutheran Church, Conant, IL. Herbert was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country from October 4, 1950 to October 3, 1952. He also served 5 years in the Army Reserves. Herbert was a lifelong cattle farmer and truly loved caring for his beef herd. He also served as a trustee and an elder for Immanuel Lutheran Church for several terms and was an elder and trustee at Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Perry County Farm Bureau and served on several committees including the Perry County Soil and Water, and the A.S.C.S. USDA Office. Herbert was a member of Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504. Survivors include one niece, Barbara Paasch of Pinckneyville, IL; cousin, Willard (Dorothy) Schaudt of Cutler, IL and dear friends, Marian and Barbara Greer of Coulterville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edward and Henry Paasch; aunt, Emma Schaudt and a nephew, Roger Paasch. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conant, IL on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend David Kollmeyer officiating. Interment will be in Lost Prairie Cemetery, Conant, IL. Military graveside services will be provided by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Lost Prairie Cemetery Association.
