Henry "Hank" Guerrero's Obituary
Henry Guerrero, age 64, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at 9:25pm. He was in his home surrounded by family and friends.
Henry was born on November 12, 1958 in Topeka, KS, a son to Henry Torrez Guerrero and Virginia (Cook) Batson.
Henry was of the Baptist faith and attended various churches.
After graduating from Pinckneyville Community High School, Henry worked as a hairdresser until a tragic auto accident ended his career.
Henry loved so many things in life; and despite his situation he never complained. He loved backgammon, Jenga, and fantasy sports. Henry loved the outdoors and enjoying it with his dog, Tess. He loved all things Chicago Cubs, music, and sports. Henry was an outstanding athlete; excelling in football, diving, baseball, and any other sport he tried.
Survivors include his daughter, Laci Harper (Drew Vandiver) of Marissa, IL; a brother, Adrian Guerrero (Elizabeth) of Winchendon, MA; a sister, Jada Batson (Tina Heath) of Pinckneyville, IL; his granddaughters, Hailey and Olivia; nephews, Adam and Anthony; great nephews, Dante and Sequoia; and a niece; Hannah. Henry is also survived by many relatives in Kansas and Texas and special friends, Joe Baker and Christina Anheuser and Jessica Derrick and Ronnie Brookman.
Henry was preceded in death by his father, Henry Guerrero; and his mother and stepfather, Virginia and Bill Batson.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. For those who wish to attend, a celebration of life will follow at The Grecian Steakhouse, Pinckneyville, IL.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Perry County Humane Society.
