Helen Mae Morgenstern's Obituary
Helen Mae Morgenstern, age 96, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at 1:08 a.m. in Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pinckneyville, IL.
A daughter to Edward and Sybil (Keith) Morgenstern, Helen was born on July 21, 1923 in DuQuoin, IL. Helen was a faithful member and the oldest living member of Holts Prairie Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL; she was a lifetime member of the University of Illinois Foundation. Helen had worked as a school teacher for over forty years after earning a Bachelor's Degree at the University of Illinois and a Master's Degree at the University of Colorado Boulder. She loved watching baseball and was an avid Cardinal fan.
Survivors include four nieces and nephews, Bruce (Mary) Morgenstern of Pinckneyville, IL, Roger (Jean) Morgenstern of Mahomet, IL, Frank (Martha) Morgenstern of Sunfield, IL and Raynell (David) Gegle of St. Louis, MO; six great-nieces and nephews, Amanda, Brock, Keith, Lindsay, Grant and Michelle; four great-great nieces and nephews; and a brother, Edward "Gene" Morgenstern of Sparta, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kenneth Morgenstern; two sisters-in-law, Betty Morgenstern and Dorothy Morgenstern and one great-nephew, Paul Morgenstern.
A private family service will be held at Holts Prairie Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL with Brother Collin Hirsch officiating. Interment will be in Holts Prairie Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.

Due to health concerns related to the Covid-19 virus and by the signing of executive order by Governor J.B. Pritzker, attendance will be limited and social distancing will be enforced.
Memorial donations may be made to Holts Prairie Cemetery.
