Harry R. Stanton's Obituary
Harry R. Stanton age 89, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away at the Skilled Care Unit of the Pinckneyville Community Hospital at 7:25 a.m. on Friday morning, July 4, 2008. Harry was born on June 12, 1919 in Pinckneyville, IL a son to Joseph L.M. and Lena (Gerstenschledger) Stanton. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. On November 27, 1948 he married Marie Heisner in Pinckneyville, IL and she preceded him in death on July 4, 1980. On October 4, 1985 Harry married Doris Cline in Pinckneyville, IL and she preceded him in death on March 3, 2007. He was a publisher and printer for the Perry County Advocate for more then 40 years, a member of St. Paul UCC Church, Pinckneyville, IL, the American Legion, and the Illinois Press Association. Harry is survived by three daughters; Geniese (Terry) Silbe of Pinckneyville, IL, Polly (Galen) Grant of Johnson City, IL, and Harriet (Scott) Kimmel of Kittery, ME, one step-son; Jimmy Farmer of Mt. Vernon, IL, one brother; Donald (June) Stanton of Centralia, IL, one sister; Emaline (Max) Malan of VA, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, a daughter; Deborah Clark, two brothers; Milage and Robert Stanton, three sisters; Marie Allen, Myrtle McDonald, and Dorothy Harrison. Funeral services will be at the Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL, Monday evening, July 7, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home Monday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until Services at 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Skilled Care Auxiliary, Pinckneyville, IL.
