Harriet T. Campbell's Obituary
Harriet T. Campbell, 89, most recently a resident of Carrier Mills Nursing Home, Carrier Mills, Illinois passed away December 7, 2020.
Harriet started her life journey on the family farm near Fairfax, MO and Falls City, NE, the daughter of Gordon and Eleanor Thomson. In 1949, she married Lowell W. Campbell of Pinckneyville, Illinois. They resided in the greater St. Louis metro area near Columbia, IL for over 20 years. After the death of Lowell in 1984, Harriet moved to Highland, IL and then in 2008 to Los Alamos, New Mexico to be near her daughter. Harriet was a loving wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, seamstress, upholsterer, carpenter/builder and small business owner. She was a very talented woman. She enjoyed church, playing cards, bowling and making friends. She was active at the White Rock Senior Center and White Rock Baptist Church in NM. She returned to Illinois in 2016 as Parkinson's complications required enhanced care.
Harriet is survived by her son Austin G. Campbell (Karen) of Marion, Illinois; daughter Linda S. Walter (John) of Los Alamos, NM, grandchildren Matthew (Ann) Campbell, Andrea (Bill) Arnold, Allison Campbell, Lauren Campbell and Steven Walter, and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Martha Bellamy of Omaha, NE and Jody Rose of Plymouth, IN; many loving nephews, nieces and faithful friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lowell, her longtime companion Delmar Mersinger, two brothers and a granddaughter.
Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. A family memorial will be scheduled in the spring in Illinois.
