Harriet Ann Giacomo's Obituary
Harriet Ann Giacomo, age 88, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 7:02 p.m. in Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pinckneyville, IL.
Harriet was born on February 12, 1931 in Murphysboro, IL, a daughter to George John and Mary E. (Hanson) Golliher. On July 30, 1949, she married Nelson Giacomo at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and he survives. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and the Order of the Eastern Star. Harriet had worked as a homemaker, as well as at the Pinckneyville Democrat office and Dr. Graves Veterinary Office. She enjoyed embroidering, quilting and reading. She loved chocolate and sweets, but most of all, her family.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Nelson Giacomo of Pinckneyville, IL; four daughters, Joyce (Pat) Campbell of Pinckneyville, IL, Peggy (David) Sims of Pinckneyville, IL, Susan Endres of DuQuoin, IL and Jane (Greg) Folden of Pinckneyville, IL; a brother, John (Karen) Golliher of Benton, IL; a sister, Georgia Keith of DuQuoin, IL; eight grandchildren, Eric (Vanessa) Campbell, Kelly (Kent) Epplin, Richel (Kevin) Biby, Jana Trigg, Cole Endres, Nick Endres, Justin Folden and Jill (Dustin) Nehrkorn; and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Golliher.
Funeral service will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, the American Heart Association or Oak Grove Baptist Church.
