Harold C.C. Toedte's Obituary
Harold C.C. Toedte, age 91, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 9:25 a.m. in Pinckneyville Health Care Center.
Harold was born on March 14, 1915 in Hoyleton, IL, a son to Theodore and Wilhelmina (Jaspering) Toedte. He married Velma Sronce on January 1, 1942 at the Methodist Church in Rogers Park, Chicago, IL and she survives. He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville where he was a former Consistory member. He worked as a machinist with the Reddington Company in Chicago, IL, had been a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years, enjoyed gardening and grew strawberries in Pinckneyville since 1964. Survivors include his wife: Velma of Pinckneyville, three nieces: Catherine Thomas, Lucille Redford, and Jenetta Holt, and a host of great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters-in-law: Helen Tielman, Ruth Knapp, and Lillie Jones. Funeral Services will be held at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Steve Quinn officiating and Pastor Cindy Bean assisting. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, DuQuoin. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Friday from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. and then on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services. Masonic services will be held on Friday at 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Liberty Church Building Fund or Luke Memorial Hospice.
