Harmon Otto Kuhnert's Obituary
Harmon Otto Kuhnert, age 94, of Swanwick, passed away on Thursday, February 08, 2007 at 12:38 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital. Harmon was born on February 3, 1913 in Pinckneyville, a son to Adolph and Mary (Fiek) Kuhnert. He married Dorothy Lacy in April of 1932 and together they had three sons and she preceded him in death on April 20, 1962. He then married Jacqueline (Owens) George of Tamaroa who had four children. He was a member of Winkle Baptist Church, Pinckneyville where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for over 50 years. He was a farmer all of his life and loved fishing, trapping and hunting. Survivors include his wife: Jacqueline of rural Swanwick, three sons: Donald and wife Donna Kuhnert of Pinckneyville, James and wife Zella Kuhnert of Swanwick, and Roger and wife Sue Kuhnert of Swanwick, two step-sons: Robert and wife Lorraine George of Alden, IA, and Allen and Terry George of Pinckneyville, two step-daughters: Karen and husband Gary Akers of Beckemeyer, IL, and Diann and Rodney Tuthill of Tamaroa, fifteen grandchildren: Konnie Kuhnert of Winkle, David and wife Gail Kuhnert of Pinckneyville, Terri and husband Chris Menz of Chesterfield, MO, Suzie and husband Ron Gerber of Tamaroa, Shellie and husband Mark Barr of Pinckneyville, Dale and wife Kara Kuhnert of Taylorville, Dennis Kuhnert of Swanwick, Lt. Colonel Randy and wife Patty George of Portsmouth, RI, Angela and husband Tom Williams of Alden, IA, Carol and husband Tim Long of Iowa Falls, IA, Lisa and husband Rusty Mezel of Blufton, SC, Todd and wife Karen Tuthill of Buffalo, NY, Craig and wife Chrissie Tuthill of Ridgecrest, CA, Zachary and wife Tammy Dunihoo of Pinckneyville, and Laci George of DuQuoin, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife: Dorothy, one granddaughter: Laurie Kuhnert, and one great-grandson: Lucas Moore. Funeral services will be held at Winkle Baptist Church, rural Pinckneyville on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Tim McIntyre and Brother Jeff Downard officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL. Friends may call at the Winkle Baptist Church on Friday from 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and then on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be made to Winkle Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church, Sparta, or American Cancer Society.
