Glendel "Glen" Ray Hull's Obituary
Glendel Ray "Glen" Hull, age 79, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 12:28 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL. Glen was born on September 19, 1936 in Harrisburg, IL, a son to Granvel Russell and Mary Elizabeth (Moore) Hull. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. On March 20, 1960, he married Carol K. Evans in Bloomingdale, IN and she survives. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL. In his lifetime, he had worked as an insurance salesman for State Farm, Prudential and Kemper and had retired from the State of Illinois where he worked as an Illinois State Lottery Sales Representative. He was a member of the Moose, Lions Club, Elks and the DuQuoin, IL American Legion. He served as chairman of the Perry County Republican Party for two terms and worked as a legislative aide to Ralph Dunn for many years. Glen enjoyed refereeing high school volleyball, working the sidelines for the football games and was an avid Panther sports fan. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Carol Hull of DuQuoin, IL; two sons, Steven (Pam) Hull, M.D. of Lake Quivira, KS and Gary (Christine) Hull of Tarpon Springs, FL; a daughter, Tonya Hull of St. Charles, MO; two grandchildren, Hayden Hull and Katherine Hull; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mildred Golliher; and a brother, Kenneth Hull. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Monday, February, 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, DuQuoin, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion, DuQuoin, IL or First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL.
