Gladys M. Oliver's Obituary
Gladys M. Oliver, age 95, of St. Louis, MO and formerly of Du Quoin, IL, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 11:45 p.m. in Bethesda Southgate Nursing Home, St. Louis, MO.
Gladys was born on February 25, 1925 in Du Quoin, IL, a daughter to James and Edith (George) Clark. In 1945, Gladys married William Oliver Sr. in St. Louis, MO and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. Gladys was of the Baptist faith who loved her family.
Survivors include one son, John S. Oliver of St. Louis; one daughter, Diana Marie Schenck of St. Louis and one grandchild, Michelle Rey; three brothers, Larry Clark of Pinckneyville, IL, Mike Clark of Virden, IL Jimmy Dale Clark of Springdale, Ark, two sisters, Alice Jones of Du Quoin, IL and Connie Brandibas of Iuka, IL;.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, William C. Oliver, Jr.; and 8 siblings, Esther Little, Ruby Oliver, James Clark, Betty Scruggs, Marjory Griffin, Clifford Clark, Earlene Preston and Charles Clark.
A private family graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Parrish Cemetery in Vergennes with Rob Mathis officiating.
A visitation service will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, IL.
Due to health concerns related to the Covid-19 virus and by the signing of executive order by Governor J.B. Pritzker, attendance will be limited and social distancing will be enforced
