Miss Smith was my grade 3 teacher in 1971. I remember her admonishing us to not be "ugly" to each other and to always wear our "wraps" outside. My grandfather (also named Smith) looked forward to seeing my report cards, remarking irreverently each time "What's ol' Gertie got to say this time?" Never mind she wasn't "ol'" at all! I'm older now than she was then. Belated condolences to her friends and family.

She was such a sweet lady. Proud to say that i knew her and her family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
