Georgia Lee Keith's Obituary
Georgia Lee Keith, age 90, of Du Quoin, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 7:40 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL with many family and loved ones by her side.
Georgia was born on December 10, 1933 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to George John and Mary E. (Hanson) Golliher. On June 30, 1951, she married Norman Keith at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on June 25th, 2004 after 53 years of marriage. She was a member of Nine Mile Baptist Church, Tamaroa, IL. Georgia had worked as a homemaker, as well as at the Pinckneyville Democrat office. She enjoyed sewing and making custom curtains. She loved chocolate and sweets, but most of all, her family.
Survivors include three sons, Robert (Gayle) Keith of Pinckneyville, IL, George (Nancy) Keith of Tamaroa, IL, Thomas (Cheryl) Keith of DuQuoin, IL; a brother, John (Karen) Golliher of Benton, IL; eight grandchildren, Ryan (Jennifer) Keith, Jeremy (Alison) Keith, Alexis Keith, Colin Keith, Emily (Jordan) Evans, Madelyn (Kendall) Gibson, Sophia (Myles) Foor, Phoebe (fiancé Mathias) Keith; and eight great-grandchildren, Gracelyn Keith, Emersyn Keith, Aaron Keith, Abigail Keith, Alayna Keith, Alexa Keith, Mila Evans and Blakely Gibson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Golliher; Norman's parents, Emery and Blanche Keith; sister and brother-in-law, Harriet and Nelson Giacomo; brother-in-law, Marvin Keith; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pauline and Joe House.
Funeral service will be held at Nine Mile Baptist Church, Tamaroa, IL on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. with Brother Robby Hagerman officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be at Nine Mile Baptist Church, Tamaroa, IL on Monday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Nine Mile Baptist Church.
