George Goeke's Obituary
George Goeke age 73, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away at 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in his home. George was born on August 19, 1936 in Chicago, IL, a son to Frank and Romoa (Eggalston) Goeke. On November 12, 1955, he married Catherine Bryant in Chicago, IL and she survives. George was of the Catholic faith. He worked for Kiddie Fire Equipment in Chicago, IL, Charles Teas Co, Chicago, IL, Spartan Printing, Sparta, IL for 1 ½ years and Turco Manufacturing, DuQuoin, IL for over 20 years. George enjoyed boating and fishing on his lake, he loved animals, especially caring for his horse Sable, but he especially loved being a husband, father and grandfather. George is survived by his wife, four sons, Edward (Erica) Goeke of Clearwater, FL, Bud A. (Susan) Goeke of Pinckneyville, IL, David (Gina) Goeke of DuQuoin, IL, Robert Goeke of Norfolk, NE; a daughter, Georgia (Tim) Degler of Tamaroa, IL, two sisters, Vivian Frighetto of Naperville, IL and Estella Goeke of Aurora, IL; twenty-two grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Frank Goeke and four grandchildren, David Goeke, Jr., Jason Goeke, Devin Goeke and Christina Degler. It was George's wishes to be cremated and no services will be held. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
