George Eugene Bruno's Obituary
George Eugene Bruno, age 83, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed Monday, December 12, 2022 at 9:03 a.m., in his home.
George was born on March 13, 1939 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to John Baptiste and Josephine (Ruffino) Bruno. On April 5, 1958, he married Betty June Henseler at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and she preceded him in death on April 30, 1997 after 39 years of marriage. In his lifetime, George had worked as a coal miner, mine construction worker, and electrician at McDonnel Douglas, General Motors, Streamline, Captain Mine, and IBEW. He enjoyed fishing, farming, gardening, and hunting.
Survivors include his three sons, Ronnie (Cindie) Bruno of Pinckneyville, IL, David (Linda) Bruno of Knoxville, TN, and Dallas (Loretta) Bruno of Marion, IL; a daughter, Sheryl Bruno of Pinckneyville, IL; a brother, Pete Bruno of Pinckneyville, IL; two sisters, Marie Wetting of Steeleville, IL and Margaret Padfield; nine grandchildren, Thomas and Timothy Bruno, Brian, Bruce and Colby Bruno, Dillon Bruno, Joshua Linders, Trevor Williams, and Katheryn Barfield; four great-grandchildren, Eva and Ivy Bruno, Jasmine Williams, and Zane Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Bruno; and four brothers, John Joe Bruno, Michael Dominick Bruno, Floyd Lee Bruno, and Richard James Bruno.
Funeral services will be at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James Clardy officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday morning at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
