Garreth N. "Gary" Egbert's Obituary
Garreth N. "Gary" Egbert, age 75, of Ava, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 9:35 a.m. in his home. Gary was born on August 18, 1940 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Edward and Bertha (Brown) Egbert. On March 28, 1961, he married Marjorie Walker in Willisville, IL and she survives. Gary was a timber cutter and he along with his brother owned and operated Egbert Timber Company, Campbell Hill, IL. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR and was a Ford lover. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Egbert of Ava, IL; a son, Terry Egbert of Oraville, IL; a daughter, Sharon (Ted) Maxedon of Mt. Vernon, IL; four grandchildren, Trey Maxedon, Brittney Lindsey, Blake Egbert and Cody (Bri) Fletcher; one great-grandchild, Serenity Fletcher; and two brothers, Jim (Janet) Egbert of Campbell Hill, IL and Floyd (Connie) Egbert of Willisville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Willard "Dean" Egbert, George Lavern Egbert and Cecil Egbert and two brothers in infancy. Interment will be in Galum Presbyterian Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Per Gary's wishes, funeral services and burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or St. Luke Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill, IL TAFFY program. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
