Frederick Charles Queen's Obituary
Frederick Charles "Freddie" Queen, age 61, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2006 at 11:09 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital. Freddie was born on July 31, 1945 in DuQuoin, IL, a son to Charles H. and Ila Fay (Bardle) Queen. While living in Pinckneyville, he was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 25 years, and a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ. He enjoyed auctions, coin collecting and antiques. Freddie also enjoyed his time living in Montgomery, TX taking care of his farm. Freddie worked as a janitor and a security guard for many years. He attended Rend Lake College in Ina, IL and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. Survivors include his mother Ila Fay Queen of Pinckneyville, IL, one daughter: Sarah Louise (Queen) Self of Zeigler, IL, three sons: Thomas Wayne Queen of TN, Andrew James Queen of CA and Mark Alan Queen of VT, one brother: David Eugene Queen of Hazelwood, MO, eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild: Cody Doolin, a lifelong friend Steven Cole and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Charles Queen and grandparents: Fred and Carmen E. Bardle. Friends may call at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home on Monday, September 18, 2006 from 6-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8-9:30 a.m. and then at the church from 10 am until time of services. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday September 19, 2006 in the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pinckneyville, IL with Pastor Cindy Bean officiating. Burial will be at the Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mueller Hill Cemetery.
