Frankie W. Queen's Obituary
Frankie W. Queen, age 83, of Pinckneyville, passed away on June 16, 2006 at 2:35 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital. Frankie was born on April 8, 1923 in Winkle, IL, a son to Walter P. and Myrtle (Staubus) Queen. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II. He married Betty Taylor on June 14, 1947 in Pinckneyville and she preceded him in death on August 24, 2000. Frankie was of the Baptist faith and had retired after more than 40 years as a boilermaker with Local 363 in Belleville and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. He was also a member of the Eagles and the Moose in Pinckneyville, was an avid hunter, and big Cardinal fan, and loved to cook. Survivors include one son: Michael "Mick" Queen of St. Charles, MO, three daughters: Vicki Barczewski of Nashville, IL, Frankie "Dawn" Kopshever and husband Mike of Henderson, KY, and Connie Campbell of Sparta, IL, one brother: Clyde Queen and wife Lillian of Oraville, CA, two sisters-in-law: Lois Caupert of Pinckneyville, and Audrey Webb of DuQuoin, six grandchildren: Michael Kopshever, Jr. and wife Laura, Matthew Kopshever and wife Shanna, Timothy Barczewski, Cheney Barczewski, Desiree Ehret and huaband Eddie, and Emili Haley, and three great-grandchildren: Jacobi Haley-Ehret, Hayden Kopshever, and Katie Kopshever. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Betty, and one granddaughter: Heddi Elyssa Haley. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Jim Van Oss officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial donations may be made to the Mary Kuykendall Carpenter Heart Fund.
