Frank Millikin's Obituary
Frank Millikin, age 65, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away Saturday morning, May 20, 2006 in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital. Frank was born September 1, 1940 in Pinckneyville, IL, the son of William John and Thelma LaVaughn (Hagler) Millikin. He was united in marriage to Carol L. Williams December 23, 1965 at the Holt's Prairie Church in Pinckneyville, IL. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army receiving an honorable medical discharge, a member of Roe's Dale Baptist Church, 1958 graduate of P.C.H.S., and member of the UMWA. Frank worked as a coal miner for Consolidated Coal Company, was a truck driver for Norrenbern's Trucking Company, and also worked in construction. He served 4 years as a county commissioner and loved his part-time work with the DuQuoin State Fairground track crew. Frank loved spending time with his grandchildren and liked horse racing and working in his yard and garden.
Frank is survived by his wife Carol of Pinckneyville, IL, one son, Matthew Millikin of Herrin, IL, two daughters, Jeanne Millikin of Murphysboro, IL, and Cheryl Queen and Kevin Hagene of Pinckneyville, IL, three brothers, Carl Millikin and wife Shirley of Granite City, IL, Billie Millikin of Pinckneyville, IL, and Norman Millikin and wife Vicki of Bozeman, MT, three sisters, Ruth Ann Millikin of Pinckneyville, IL, Rosalie Kringer and husband Ronald of Pinckneyville, IL, and Halene Overley and husband John of Kalamazoo, MI, sisters-in-law, Peggy Dunn and husband Russell of Pinckneyville, IL, Beth Bates and husband Jim of DuQuoin, IL, Carrie Millikin of Pinckneyville, IL, brothers-in-law, Glenn Wilcox and wife Carole of Murphysboro, IL, Billy Joe Wilcox and wife Tracy of Ridgecrest, CA, J.T. Wilcox and wife Patty of Idabel, OK, mother-in-law, Genie Wilcox of Pinckneyville, IL, 4 grandchildren, Casey, Dylan, Colin, and Kiya Hagene all of Pinckneyville, IL, and several nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Eugene 'Sport' and Don Millikin. Funeral services will be Wednesday morning, May 24, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, IL with Reverend Charles Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Holt's Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning from 8:00 a.m. till Services. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
