Frank Dotzler's Obituary
Frank Dotzler, beloved member of the Coulterville community, passed away October 10, 2025. Born and raised in New York, Frank attended South Side High School in Rockville Centre, NY, where he shined as a member of both the track & football teams. He furthered his education at Manhattan College, earning a BS in Education. After graduation, Frank moved to Coulterville, IL, where he taught math and quickly became enamored with the town and its people, making it his lifelong home.
Frank eventually transitioned into a successful career as a remodeling contractor, a role in which he took great pride. He was passionate about the outdoors and spent countless hours fishing, scuba diving, hiking, and biking. Frank was also an avid reader and lifelong learner. His curiosity and love for history inspired him to be an epic world traveler to many of the destinations he studied, including backpacking across Europe and visits to China, India, Egypt & Israel.
Frank was predeceased by his parents, John and Agnes Dotzler, and siblings: Pauline Flynn, Katherine Garry, James Dotzler, Robert Dotzler, and John Dotzler, Jr. He leaves behind seventeen nieces and nephews, 33 grand nieces/nephews, & 6 great nieces/nephews of whom he was extremely proud.
A memorial service celebrating Frank's life will be announced at a future date. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
