Francis E. Bathon's Obituary
Francis E. Bathon, age 73, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 6:20 p.m., he died peacefully in his favorite deer stand doing what he loved.
Francis was born on June 5, 1951 in Centralia, IL, a son to Francis and Marie (Loos) Bathon. On July 21, 1973, he married Patricia Bergman at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL, and she survives. Francis is a graduate of Pinckneyville Community High School and was a member of I.O.U.E. Local 520 and the UMWA. He worked at Coulterville Equipment, Suchomski Equipment, Burning Star #4, and was a farmer his entire life. Francis enjoyed hunting, tractor pulls, listening to Panther basketball and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia Bathon; one daughter, Christy (Kevin) Goldman; two sons, Russell (Haley) Bathon and Patrick (Ashley) Bathon; nine grandchildren, Kaitlyn Goldman, Keith Goldman, Ethan Kellerman, Clayton Bathon and Samantha, Presley Reeves, Cooper Bathon, Arthur Bathon, Colby Bathon, and Pharrah Bathon; nine siblings, James (Carolyn) Bathon, Tom (Jeannie) Bathon, Linda (Stanley) Grzygorek, Jane (Kurt) Schuessler, Carolyn (Dave) Holder, Barb (Bill) Griffen, David Bathon, Roger (Judy) Bathon, Janet Bathon, and Ed Burris; five brothers and sisters-in-law, James (Paula) Bergman, Peggy Rhuel, Amy Moeller, Michael (Susan) Bergman, and Vicky (Ronald) Kabat; loving pet dog, Rex; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Marie Bathon; father-in-law Leroy Bergman; mother-in-law Marjorie (Lilienkamp) Bergman; brother-in-law Toby Bergman; and step-grandson Wyatt Miller.
Memorial services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., with Scott Carney officiating.
Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Hit-N-Miss Foundation (a non-profit youth hunting organization) or to the Tyler Smith Memorial Foundation.
