Floyd Arnett's Obituary
Floyd Arnett, age 85, of Tamaroa, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 6:52 p.m. in Marshall Browning Hospital Emergency Room, DuQuoin, IL. Floyd was born on November 20, 1928 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to George and Florence (Armstrong) Arnett. On September 5, 1953, he married Shirley Hubler in Pinckneyville, IL and she preceded him in death on February 8, 1995. Floyd was a proud veteran of the United States Army and worked on a production line at General Motors, St Louis, MO for 30 years. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL. Floyd was a farmer, enjoyed fishing, taking care of his chickens, gardening, Cardinal's baseball and caring for his family. Survivors include one son, Terry (Stacey) Arnett, Dowell, IL; two daughters, Brenda Albers and Patricia Ann Arnett, both of Tamaroa, IL; five grandchildren, Tiffany, Amanda, Avery, Gregory and Landry; two great-grandchildren, Kassity and Delaynie; two sisters, Edna Laird of Pinckneyville, IL and Rebecca Arnett of McLeansboro, IL and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, George Allen Arnett and a brother, Donald Arnett. Graveside services will be held at Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Barnett officiating. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Graveside Military services will be provided by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will be no visitation Thursday morning. Memorial donations may be made to the Floyd Arnett family.
