Florence P. "Babe" Bruns' Obituary
Florence P. "Babe" Bruns, age 77, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL.
Florence was born on June 4, 1945 in Oakdale, IL, a daughter to Delfino "Dell" and Genevieve (Kellerman) Ruffino. On February 21, 1963, she married Lawrence H. "Larry" Bruns at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Todd's Mill, IL and he survives. Florence was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, and U.M.W.A. Ladies Auxiliary. She was a homemaker and cow herdsman and had previously served on the St. Bruno School Board. Florence loved animals, riding horses and cooking, especially, apple pie and chicken n dumplings.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-nine years, Larry Bruns of Pinckneyville, IL; four children, Delbert "Joe" Bruns of Pinckneyville, IL, Alan (Lori) Bruns of Pinckneyville, IL, Dan "Boone" (Angie) Bruns of Pinckneyville, IL, and Lisa K. (Chad) Edmonds of Tamaroa, IL; six grandchildren, Tim (Hope) Bruns, Taylor (Garret) Koen, Kyle Bruns, Nolan Bruns, Kendra Bruns (Special Friend, Anthony Risley), and Kyle Edmonds; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister in infancy, Rose.
Funeral mass will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Carl Schrage officiating. Interment will be at Concord Baptist Cemetery, Rice, IL.
Visitation will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. The rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Bruno Catholic School, Pinckneyville, IL.
