Florence M. Dudek's Obituary
Florence M. Dudek, age 89, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 3:10 p.m., surrounded by her family and nursing home staff in Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pinckneyville, IL.
Florence was born on November 2, 1933 in Cutler, IL, a daughter to Albert J. and Bertha (Epplin) Loos. On April 18, 1955, she married John H. Dudek in St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death after 44 years of marriage on January 23, 1999. She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, past member of the Catholic Daughters of America and a member of the Perry County Farm Bureau. Florence enjoyed quilting, playing the accordion, baking chocolate chip cookies, bowling and gardening. Florence was a homemaker and dairy farmer and was always spoiling her grandchildren.
Survivors include her four sons, John J. Dudek (special friend, Jennie), Tony (Pam) Dudek, Mark (Robin) Dudek, and Matt Dudek, all of Pinckneyville, IL; five daughters, Bea (Paul) Sloan of Murphysboro, IL, Berni (Roger) Edwards of Benton, IL, Liz (Greg) Hale, Elaine (Dwight) Bigham, and Julia (Cliff) Curless, all of Pinckneyville, IL; a brother, Charles (Judy) Loos of Cutler, IL; two sisters, Berneice Grabowski of Belleville, IL, and Monica (John) Wilson of Ava, IL; a sister-in-law, Susan Dudek of Pinckneyville, IL; seventeen grandchildren, Megan, Janelle (Duane), Melanie, Jayci, Hayley, Drew (Alyssa), Bryant (Katelyn), Garrick, Henry (Mia), Daisy (Grant), Lyndsey (Dylan), Natalie, Cole (Bailey), Callie, Jamison, Margo, and Steven (Jade); six step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, Johni, Lily, Kasen, Jaxson, Easton, Rosalia, Mally, and Treyton; eight step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Ralph Loos, Albert Loos, and Clarence Loos; a sister-in-law, Sonia Loos; and a brother-in-law, Francis Grabowski.
Funeral services will be at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Jim Nall officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Residential Hospice Foundation, or St. Bruno Catholic School.
