Everett Lipe's Obituary
Everett Lipe, age 91, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 11:06 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital Emergency Room, Pinckneyville, IL. Everett was born on March 15, 1925 in Cutler, IL, a son to William and Leta (Derricks) Lipe. On January 7, 1950, he married Patricia Stotz in Pinckneyville, IL and she preceded him in death on January 19, 1996. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army Air Force, attended New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville, IL and Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and worked as a iron worker. He was a Life Member of The International Association of Bridge Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers Local 392 of East St. Louis, IL. Everett was an avid animal lover and a St. Louis Cardinal fan. He loved riding and showing horses, drove a horse drawn buggy at Eckerts for a time and was a member of the Quarter Horse Association. Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Fisher and Dejah Herrmany, both of Pinckeyville, IL; three step-grandchildren, Lori (Brett) Pyles, Robert Chapman and Richard Chapman; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Brenda; step-son, Bobby Chapman; step granddaughter, Robin Chapman; three brothers, Edward Lipe, Wivalle Lipe and in infancy, Dennen Lipe; and four sisters, Lucille Taylor, Verna Dunihoo, Vernice Chapman and Gwendolyn Lipe. Funeral services will be held at New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor James Clardy and Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, DuQuoin, IL. Military service provided by DuQuoin V.F.W. and American Legion. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville, IL from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
